"One can not reflect in streaming water. Only those who know internal peace can give it to others."

We don't know whether Christelle knows this famous quote by Lao Tzu but she sure knows how to bring about a feeling of calm, quietness and tranquility in her compositions, so strong actually it will echo in the viewers mind and generate a longing, almost a physical sensation, to go to this place, to immerse oneself in this still water and let absolute peace cover the viewers' inner souls.

I’m Christelle Landais and I work and live in France.

I studied for six months in a photography school in Paris (Speos institute) about ten years ago.
My love for life guides my photographic style. I'm completely addicted to photography and I take pictures all the time with any camera. Little moments every day, kids, a ray of light, and I also work commercially with customers in free lance.

My personal work is almost always about Annecy's lake because I live quite close and it is a beautiful lake with pure water, surrounded  by mountains . It's been maybe eight years that I turned around with one of my camera. I photograph with a Canon 5D Mark II, and a Holga or Diana for analog photography.

My vision of photography is that an image has to create something for the viewer. An image can be beautiful but if it creates no emotion, it doesn't work for me. I prefer simple images with emotions to any perfect image with nothing inside, just a perfect capture, it’s just technic. This is not life.

This sentence of Duane Michals illustrates perfectly my point of view : « Photography has to transcend description. It has to go beyond description to bring insight into the subject or reveal the subject, not as it looks, but how does it feel.
